Install New Shower Head Arm

Replacing a bathroom showerhead is usually as easy as unscrewing the old showerhead and screwing on the new one. Securely attach the elbow to the framing directly behind the hole in the wall through. Install the shower arm. How did this project turn out.
Slide the backing onto the shower arm and wrap the open end in tape. Finish your prep by wrapping both ends of your shower arm in teflon and screwing it into place. Once the shower arm is free remove the flange round disk that covers the hole in the wall. Shine a light in the hole and clean up the female connector in the wall.
Wrap the end of the shower arm in teflon or pipe thread tape and screw it into the pipe opening in the wall or ceiling. The painters tape around the shower arm prevents the pliers or wrench from making scratches or marks on the new shower arm. Prep the shower arm. Remove any teflon tape or joint compound from the previous installation.
Use a damp rag to reach in and remove any leftover tape grease oil or any other buildup or debris. Clean the threading of the shower arm with a suitable general purpose cleaner and a fresh towel. Once your shower s structural and plumbing components are in place cut an access hole in the wall for your arm and head. If adding the new head is part of a complete shower install you ll need to add the plumbing and valves first.
Screw the fixed mount showerhead onto the end of the diverter in a clockwise direction and hand tighten. Start reinstalling the new shower arm by going clockwise by hand until it is tight then put painters tape around the arm and tighten the arm with the channel lock or monkey wrench. Wrap the threading on the shower arm in teflon tape or apply thread joint compound.
